Security Check, 12:33 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Security check on vacant building.

Dog Complaint, 12:33 p.m., SE Second Avenue, Mill City. Deputy spoke with dog owner whose dog is repeatedly loose. Dog owner rehomed dog.

Dog Complaint, 2:12 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Complaint of dog at large handled by the owner finding a new home for the dog.

Traffic Stop, 8:05 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue/S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 75 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Traffic Stop, 9:16 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue/SE Third Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 44 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Traffic Stop, 9:36 p.m., SW Kingwood Avenue/SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 44 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Suspicious Circumstance, 9:46 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Deputy located a small section of a field fence that appeared cut.

Feb. 23

Traffic Stop, 12:30 a.m., NE Wall Street/N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:36 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Vehicle parked near the athletic fields. Vehicle was iced over and had been there for some time. Nobody with or around the vehicle.

Extra Patrol, 9:37 a.m., SW Fifth Avenue/SW Cherry Street, Scio. Extra patrol for stop sign violations.

Traffic Stop, 10:42 a.m., NW Second Avenue/N Main Street, Scio. Driver cited for not wearing seatbelt.

Traffic Stop, 11:07 a.m., NE Third Avenue/N Main Street, Scio. Driver cited for expired tags.

Traffic Stop, noon, Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Driver cited for using cell phone.

Citizen Contact, 4:07 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Male had questions about how to obtain a concealed weapons license.

Traffic Stop, 4:19 p.m., Shelburn Drive, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured.

Traffic Hazard, 6:16 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive/Highway 226, Scio. Deputies dispatched to a report of sheep in the road. Sheep had left the road and returned to their pasture.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:20 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in his neighborhood.

Traffic Stop, 11:32 p.m., Highway 226/Old Homestead Drive, Scio. Driver warned for expired tags.

Traffic Stop, 12:49 a.m., N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for expired tags.

Traffic Stop, 1:19 a.m., SW Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Traffic stop with juveniles out past curfew. Juveniles’ parents were contacted and responded. No enforcement action taken.

Suspicious Person, 3 a.m., SW Spring Street, Mill City. Deputy contacted male in an open garage and confirmed he lived at the location.

Traffic Stop, 3:49 a.m., N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 7:25 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for 80 MPH in 55 MPH zone.

Marine Patrol, 11:19 a.m., Hess Road, Scio. Attempted hazard removal on the river. Water level was too low.

Stolen vehicle, 11:25 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Caller reported his 1998 Honda CRV was stolen from his residence between 5 p.m. 2/23/22 and 10 a.m. 2/24/22.

Civil Dispute, 12:56 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Caller tried to report three vehicles as stolen on 2/20/22, and was told by the deputy it was a civil matter. Caller tried to report the same three vehicles as stolen. Still a civil matter.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 5:23 p.m., Apple Loop, Lyons. Previously reported stolen vehicle was recovered.

Traffic Stop, 9:18 p.m., N First Avenue/NW Alder Street, Mill City. Driver warned for expired registration.

Traffic Stop, 9:53 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for expired tags.

Traffic Stop, 12:02 a.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended – violation.

Traffic Stop, 1:06 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Traffic Stop, 1:30 a.m., NW Second Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for lighting violation.

Traffic Stop, 1:31 a.m., NW Second Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Juvenile Complaint, 11:07 a.m., NW Beech Street, Scio. Disorderly juvenile. Non-criminal. Problem handled by parents.

Mail Theft, 11:25 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Large amount of mail recovered. Ongoing investigation.

Found Property, 11:30 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Caller reported finding a firearm. Firearm was cleared and stored at LCSO Evidence.

Counter Traffic, 2:29 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Caller wanted to pursue charges against ex-wife despite his arrest during the same incident. Female was one of four victims. Caller was advised his case was over and no further action will be taken.

Neighborhood Dispute, 2:30 p.m., 25th Street/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Neighborhood dispute over property lines.

Minor In Possession, 4:13 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Report of minor in possession. Deputies unable to make contact.

Assault, 5:13 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Physical altercation over property. No injuries. Non-criminal at this time.

Motorist Assist, 7:55 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd./NE Third Avenue, Mill City. Driver took a turn too sharp and drove into the ditch. Passerby stopped and pulled the vehicle out of the ditch. No damage to vehicle. No impairment. No public property damage. Deputy assisted with traffic control.

Disturbance, 10:27 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Male, 36, of Scio issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody for an outstanding warrant.

Feb. 26

Disturbance, 7:26 a.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Disturbance over a landlord-tenant issue. Nothing criminal. Parties agreed to remain separated.

Extra Patrol, 8:01 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. No egregious violations observed.

Traffic Stop, 9:15 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for lighting violations.

Feb. 27

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 12:30 a.m., Trask Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Stolen vehicle recovered for Salem PD. Ongoing investigation.

Warrant, 4:58 a.m., Cedar and Third streets, Lyons. Male, 31, of Lyons arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Dog Complaint, 5:04 p.m., Freeman Road, Scio. Dogs found running loose. Both dogs returned to their home.

Dog Complaint, 6:55 p.m., SE Ivy Street, Mill City. Dog owner warned for his dog howling late at night.

Assist Other Agency, 10:49 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road. Deputy covered Stayton PD on a traffic stop turned domestic disturbance.

Feb. 28

Criminal Mischief, 10:27 a.m., Greenway Drive, Gates. Crime damage to the caller’s property.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:35 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Caller requested a vehicle be checked on – an abandoned in the City Hall parking lot.The driver of the vehicle was arrested on 2/27/22 and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Welfare Check, 11:11 a.m., SW Douglas Street, Mill City. Female resident had a medical issue and was transported to the hospital by medics.

Traffic Stop, 12:29 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for 76 MPH in 55 MPH zone. Driver warned for having tinted license plate covers.

Suspicious Circumstance, 4:59 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Suspicious male came to caller’s residence. He was asked to leave and eventually did.

Traffic Hazard, 6:37 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to a cow at large. Deputies unable to locate.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:52 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Vehicle gone upon deputy’s arrival.
