Mill City road reconstruction starts Aug. 31

Road reconstruction will shut down SW Second Avenue in Mill City beginning Aug. 31. The project is expected to be completed by Sept. 10.

The city received a grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation to reconstruct SW Second Avenue from Broadway to Evergreen.

The road closure affects the access to the Santiam Jr./Sr. High gym. The contractor will provide access to the gym parking lot whenever possible.

When completed, the new gym parking lot, new sidewalks and Second Avenue repaving project will make parking and access to school facilities safer and more convenient for students and visitors, according to city officials.

If you have questions about the project, contact City Hall at 503-897-2302.
