Traffic Stop, 3:06 a.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Third Avenue, Mill City. Driver was stopping and going looking for a friend’s house.

Extra Patrol, 4:18 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Animal Complaint, 6:29 a.m., Highway 226/Jordan Road, Scio. Deputy advised of a hit deer. 

Animal Complaint, 7:49 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Dog complaint.

Forest Timber Patrol, 10:43 a.m., Highway 22, Lyons.

Found Dog, 5:13 p.m., 25th Street/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Caller located dogs on the side of the road. Dogs were returned to owner.

Illegal Camping, 7:01 p.m., Highway 22, Idanha. Camp located on Freres Timber property. Area did not have any signage posted. Campers were warned.

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:32 p.m., Highway 22, Idanha. Deputy located a camp along Heater Creek that was shooting. Campers were advised of the extreme fire danger that bans shooting.

Traffic Stop, 9:18 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 9:34 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Extra Patrol, 10:03 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Noise Disturbance, 11:13 p.m., SW Second Avenue, Scio. Caller reported loud noises at Community Hall. When deputy arrived the noise was turned down and people were packing up and leaving.

Disturbance, 11:16 p.m., Gray Pine Street, Lyons. Female, 38, of Lyons arrested on two counts of domestic strangulation.

Accident, 11:45 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended after deputies responded to a single-vehicle, non-injury crash.

Aug. 27

Traffic Stop, 7:49 p.m., Richardson Gap and Franklin Butte roads, Scio. Driver cited for 83 MPH in 55 MPH zone.

Park Patrol, 11:32 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Campground.

Disturbance, 12:32 a.m., SW Ivy Street/Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputies were unable to locate.

Traffic Stop, 5:20 a.m., NE Alder and NE Wall streets, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Trespass, 3:53 p.m., SE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Male found in the caller’s driveway; advised of trespassing, left area.

Traffic Stop, 4:31 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Male, 38, arrested for driving while suspended misdemeanor.

Traffic Stop, 6:56 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Animal Complaint, 8:10 a.m., Richardson Gap Road/Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Deputies responded to a horse at large. Neighbor got the horse behind a locked gate before deputies arrived.

Traffic Stop, 8:12 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 8:38 a.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Warrant, 10:29 a.m., 24th Street, Lyons. Male, 38, of Lyons was cited in lieu of custody for his Linn County Justice Court warrant.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:16 a.m., 24th Street, Lyons. Unoccupied, suspicious vehicle parked on shoulder.

Traffic Stop, 11:19 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for expired registration.

Littering Violation, 12:41 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Female, 40, and male, 32, both of Albany, were arrested for offensive littering near Snow Peak area.

Assist Other Agency, 1:44 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputies assisted BCSO on a missing person case.

Forest Timber Patrol, 1:57 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Checked up on previously contacted illegal camps.

Littering Violation, 5:02 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Illegal camp left a large amount of trash on the creek bed.

Disturbance, 8:20 p.m., Goar Road, Scio. Verbal only. No crimes committed.

Aug. 30

Extra Patrol, 11:34 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City.

Dog Complaint, 11:51 a.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Transported stray dogs to Safe Haven.

Theft, 2:06 p.m., Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Caller reported vehicles were rummaged through. No items stolen. No damage to vehicles. Caller requested extra patrol in neighborhood.

Theft, 4:03 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. By time deputies arrived, caller had located property.

Warrant, 4:05 p.m., SW 10th Avenue/SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Male, 52, of Mill City was arrested and lodged at Linn County Jail on an outstanding warrant.

Traffic Complaint, 7:42 p.m., Kingwood Avenue/Dogwood Road, Mill City. Deputy took complaint of vehicle driving at high rates of speed. Deputies contacted registered owner of vehicle and had a conversation about speed and driving safe.

Extra Patrol, 11:01 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Freres Truck Shop.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:31 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputy contacted suspicious vehicle in park after hours. Occupants said they were just out getting some fresh air. Deputy advised them of park rules and they went on their way.

Aug. 31

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:05 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Deputy contacted a suspicious vehicle. Occupants were out enjoying the evening, watching the river.

911 Hang Up, 12:29 a.m., S First Avenue/SE Grove Street, Mill City. No one was located in the area.

Traffic Stop, 4:47 a.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Theft, 1:31 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Theft of two chainsaws, potentially from Lyons Market. Ongoing investigation.

Abandoned Vehicle, 5:39 p.m., SW Fourth Avenue/SW Cherry Street, Scio. Deputies contacted registered owner of vehicle and it was moved.

Civil Dispute, 7:14 p.m., Freeman Road, Scio. Civil dispute over boat sale. Disputing parties solved their own issues.

Trespass, 9:07 p.m., Sandner Drive/Kingston-Jordan Road, Scio. Deputy responded to trespasser in a pasture. Trespasser left prior to deputy’s arrival.

Sept. 1

Civil Dispute, 12:37 a.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Civil dispute regarding moving out of a house and payments on said house.

Threats, 2:34 a.m., Birch Street, Lyons. Female reported a male who had been making threats over social media.

Traffic Stop, 5:54 a.m., Kingwood and SW 11th avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Warrant, 9:07 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Female, 39, of Lyons cited in lieu of custody for a Marion County Circuit Court warrant.

Warrant, 10:20 a.m., Knox Butte Road, Albany. Female, 24, of Scio cited in lieu of custody for multiple warrants.

Extra Patrol, 10:33 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies spoke with Scio High staff in preparation for the school year.

Disturbance, 2:42 p.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Civil issue over purchase and move out of previous homeowner.

DUII, 4:07 p.m., NW Ninth Avenue, Mill City. Male, 44, of Lincoln City was cited in lieu of custody for DUII – .20% BAC or higher. Male was cited for careless driving and operating without driving privileges.

Accident, 4:43 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy took report of parking lot crash between two vehicles.

Traffic Hazard, 6:23 p.m., Bull Drive, Lyons. Caller reported vehicle parked on private roadway.

Noise Disturbance, 7:51 p.m., Meridian Drive, Scio. Deputy responded to a report of a loud party.

Trespass, 8:17 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Male transient trespassing in area. Deputy was unable to locate.

Citizen Contact, 9:22 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Male walking down street matching description of suspicious person. Not the same male.

Trespass, 9:56 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Trespass of five individuals.

Traffic Stop, 11:48 p.m., Highway 226/Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Driver cited for 76 MPH in 55 MPH zone, driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to register vehicle.
