Christine Agnes Chaffey, 74, died Oct. 5, 2023. She was born to Christine Curphey and Walter J. Dahlgren on Jan. 23, 1949, in Portland.
Christine married Phillip in Reno, Nevada, and together they built a life in Oregon – living in Donald, Aurora and Elkhorn. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mom, and later worked in food service for the local school. She was an all-star slow pitch softball player, and loved sports.
Christine was an avid cross-stitcher, loved music and camping. She was a constant presence at her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and plays.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Steven Dahlgren.
Christine is survived by her husband, Philip Chaffey; sons, Scott, Frank and Jon Chaffey; daughters, June and Brandy; brother, Walt; sister, Janis; grandchildren, Allyson and Wyatt; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Zane and Avery.
A graveside service is set for 10:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1 p.m. Oct. 21 as a potluck at 8521 Elkhorn Dr., Lyons.
