Nov. 7

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:54 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Caller reported a vehicle parked in the area. It was non-criminal.

Assist Other Agency, 11:12 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Assisted Salem PD with attempt to locate subject.

Fraud, 12:27 p.m., 10th Street, Lyons. Citizen called to report possible fraud. Citizen was not available to contact after multiple attempts.

Criminal Mischief, 3:28 p.m., Rock Creek Road/Pebble Drive, Gates. Abandoned camp trailer burned in Santiam State Forest. Ongoing investigation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:33 p.m., S McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Deputy responded regarding concerns of a vehicle parked unattended near private property. The area was patrolled and no persons were located trespassing. Information was noted.

Noise Disturbance, 4:22 p.m., Myers Place, Scio. Deputy spoke to caller about problem with noisy neighbors.

Trespass, 5:29 p.m., Providence Drive, Scio. Report of a trespasser on vacant property. Trespasser had left and caller wanted information documented.

Traffic Stop, 7:23 p.m., N Main Street/NW Second Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for failure to register vehicle.

Extra Patrol, 8:52 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Mental Health, 9:59 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies responded to mental health call. Nothing criminal reported.

Nov. 8

Dog Complaint, 12:35 a.m., SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Deputy unable to locate dogs reported to be wandering the streets.

Traffic Complaint, 12:41 a.m., S First Avenue/SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Caller advised the driver had returned home and was no longer on the road.

Accident, 1:01 a.m., 25th Street, Lyons. Deputy investigated single-vehicle crash with property damage to a fence. Driver information was exchanged with property owner.

Accident, 1:23 a.m., E Gates Bridge, Gates. Vehicle reported to be in ditch was gone when deputy arrived. No damage.

Warrant, 2:01 p.m., Fifth and Ash streets, Lyons. Male, 28, of Mill City was arrested on several outstanding warrants and escape III. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Welfare Check, 5:34 p.m., SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Caller reported her husband had left for an appointment in the morning and had not yet returned. Deputies learned the male’s appointment was in Portland and he was on his way home.

Traffic Hazard, 7:18 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Report of possible hit animal in the road. Deputy checked area and was unable to locate it.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:24 p.m., Cedar Mill Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy checked on a vehicle parked in an unusual location.

Nov. 9

Suspicious Circumstances, 12:58 a.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Caller appeared to be having a mental health episode.

Extra Patrol, 1:54 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy patrolled the city. All was quiet.

Noise Disturbance, 3:18 a.m., SW Spring Street, Mill City. Deputies sat in the area and did not hear anything.

Traffic Stop, 5:15 a.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

City Ordinance Violation, 7:06 a.m., SW Second Avenue, Mill City. Male was cited for Mill City Municipal Code violation.

Warrant, 7:27 a.m., SW Second Avenue, Mill City. Male, 53, of Mill City was cited in lieu of custody for an outstanding warrant.

Assist Other Agency, 9:36 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Deputies attempted to locate an individual for another agency.

Forest Timber Patrol, noon, Rock Creek Road, Gates. Only one truck was seen hunting. No other activity.

Theft, 1:01 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio.

Forest Timber Patrol, 2:14 p.m., Highway 22, Idanha.

Stolen Vehicle, 2:23 p.m., NW Fourth Avenue, Scio. Deputies searched the area for a possible stolen vehicle.

Dog Complaint, 2:57 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy warned a dog owner for letting dogs run into the road.

Forest Timber Patrol, 4:03 p.m., Thomas Creek Drive/Highway 226, Scio.

Nov. 10

Extra Patrol, 3:06 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Extra patrols at local businesses, schools, parks and neighborhoods.

Assist Other Agency, 10:52 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Deputy assisted another agency.

Forest Timber Patrol, 1:20 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. A lot of hunters driving around. Multiple shooting groups at the pits. One four-wheeler on the road. Deputy warned some shooters on Weyerhaeuser property to move to public land.

Fraud, 1:35 p.m., 10th Street, Lyons. Caller is victim of fraud which started through purchasing a dog on Facebook. Caller is out $350 plus fees.

Custodial Interference, 2:35 p.m., W Scio Road, Scio. Deputy spoke to a parent about custodial issues. No crime.

Forest Timber Patrol, 2:46 p.m., Trask Road, Lyons. Saw some hunters walking the area. Nothing suspicious.

Welfare Check, 3:02 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Caller was concerned about a male laying on the railroad tracks. Male was fine and had too much to drink while waiting for his laundry to get done in town. Male made it home safe.

Trespass, 3:07 p.m., Hess Road, Scio. Deputy contacted subject with questions regarding ownership of a piece of property. Information noted.

Shots Heard, 4:58 p.m., Providence Drive, Scio. Deputy unable to locate gunshots.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:51 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Suspicious vehicle warned of trespass.

Trespass, 9:55 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Extra patrol request for potential trespassers.

Nov. 11

Fight Disturbance, 12:49 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Report of a disturbance at the Red Barn Tavern. Staff at the tavern reported the disturbance was only verbal and the parties separated. They did not need assistance.

Traffic Hazard, 1:31 a.m., Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Four cows were found in road and wandered back into open field. Deputies unsure of who owners are.

Extra Patrol, 2:26 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Bike Traffic, 2:52 a.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Fifth Avenue, Mill City. Bicyclist warned for improper lighting.

Suspicious Vehicle, 4:32 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy contacted suspicious vehicle at Dollar General and advised them the store manager wanted them to move along.

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:54 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio.

Civil Dispute, 9:55 a.m., Greenway Drive, Gates. Deputy spoke to caller about civil matter.

Possible DUI, 11:15 a.m., Shilling Drive/Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputy was unable to locate vehicle.

Trespass, 12:23 p.m., Horn Creek Road, Idanha. Caller reported illegal campers at the 570 off Horn Creek. Deputy located campers who were camped legally.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:32 p.m., Parish Lake Road, Idanha.

Assault, 3:52 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Stolen Aero Precision assault rifle recovered for Stayton PD.

Motorist Assist, 4:40 p.m., Quartzville Road, Idanha. Male’s vehicle had a burnt out clutch and wasn’t able to make it out of the roadway. Deputy winched him onto the shoulder of the road.

Motorist Assist, 7:43 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Stranded motorist was found by family and deputies no longer needed to assist in locating.

Noise Disturbance, 8:44 p.m., 13th Street, Lyons. Deputy unable to locate noise disturbance.

Noise Disturbance, 9:49 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputy was unable to locate any noise.

Civil Dispute, 10:48 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Civil issue over property. Deputy helped return property to owner.

Nov. 12

Assault, 2:02 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies responded to a report of an assault. Criminal investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious Circumstances, 2:36 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Male was trespassed from apartment complex after knocking on doors and window of female’s apartment.

Threats, 3:19 a.m., Kapok Street, Lyons. Intoxicated male spoke with deputy about a previous civil issue.

Theft, 8:33 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Theft of four full propane tanks valued at $240. No suspect leads.

Suspicious Circumstances, 12:42 p.m., SW Third Avenue, Mill City. Caller located a propane tank on bike path. Tank was part of an earlier theft at Dollar General. Deputy returned tank to the store.

Assist Other Agency, 1:07 p.m., Sandner Drive, Scio. Welfare check for Salem PD. 

Dog Complaint, 3:25 p.m., 25th Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to a dog complaint. Dog owner was warned for dog as a public nuisance.

Found Dog, 4:29 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Dog found running loose near Scio was brought to Animal Control. Owner was notified and retrieved the dog.

Extra Patrol, 11:36 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Scio High.

Extra Patrol, 11:48 p.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Centennial Elementary.
