Doug passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on November 8. He was 72. Doug grew up in Independence, OR and graduated from Central HS and Western Oregon University. He spent his younger years as a logger in Oregon’s mountains, a nursing home administrator and, later, an entrepreneur in the Albany andbCorvallis area.
He enjoyed dancing,bjazz music, fishing, gardening,nfootball, the OSU Beavers, coffee,ntomatoes, and a good whiskey. Henloved supporting kids and gave backnto his community by coaching thenlocal baseball team in Scio, OR fornseveral years.
Most of all he lovednand was proud of his two sons, Jordan and Ryan. He is survivednby his mother, three sisters, brother, two sons, and many niecesnand nephews. There will be a celebration for Doug at thenIndependence Elks Club on Friday, December 8th, from 2:00npm to 5:00 pm. Rather than flowers, it was Doug’s wish thatndonations be made to local Boys and Girls Clubs. We hope youncan join us.
