Delbert Dewey O’Brien, fondly known as Digger, passed away on Dec. 26, 2023. He was born on Oct. 24, 1946, in Kalispell, Montana, to Doris and Dewey O’Brien.
On Aug. 11, 1973, Delbert married Nola O’Brien in Reno, Nev., forming a union filled with love and shared experiences.
Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, target practice, and the serenity of the beach. Delbert worked in logging and mill operations in Oak Ridge and Mill City, leaving his mark on these communities.
Delbert is survived by his wife Nola, his children Kerstin Bravo, Stacy Brown, and Clay O’Brien, and grandchildren Aidan Brown, Kylee O’Brien, and Emery O’Brien. He is also remembered by his siblings Sonja Guerrero, Michael O’Brien, Karen Potter, and Joe O’Brien. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Delbert Dewey O’Brien’s legacy is one of hard work, love for family, and a passion for life’s simple pleasures. As we say our goodbyes, may his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
