Event Detail, 7:57 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy attended a Wilderness First Aid class taught by the Lyons Fire Department.

Accident, 8:01 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy came across a non-injury crash. Single vehicle vs deer. Nothing criminal.

Extra Patrol, 8:05 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Extra patrols at schools and the park.

Warrant, 8:25 a.m., Main Street/Apple Loop, Lyons. Female, 31, was arrested and booked on an outstanding warrant. Female was also cited for traffic violations.

Threats, 8:26 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy spoke with a citizen who had concerns of domestic violence.

Civil Dispute, 10:11 a.m., SE Laurel Avenue, Mill City. Deputy responded to civil dispute over property.

Dog Complaint, 1:44 p.m., NE Alder Street, Mill City.

Traffic Hazard, 2:59 p.m., SW Kingwood and SW High avenues, Mill City. Vehicle broke down in the intersection creating a hazard. RO said they recently traded the car but didn’t have owner information. Towed as hazard to STR in Lyons.

Theft, 3:07 p.m., Shoreline Drive, Lyons. Mail stolen out of caller’s mailbox. No fraud has yet been detected. Caller will call back if fraud is learned.

Traffic Complaint, 4:53 p.m., SW Douglas Street/SW Eighth Avenue, Mill City. Report of dirt bike on road.

Welfare Check, 7:29 p.m., SE Ash Street, Scio. Deputy responded and found elderly female in distress. Female was transported to hospital by medics.

Jan. 9

Traffic Hazard, 6:05 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/Fishermans Road, Lyons. Caller reported a tree leaning over the road. Tree is not blocking the lane of travel. Road department was notified.

Animal Complaint, 7:05 a.m., Mt. Pleasant Road, Scio. Deputy hit deer while enroute to call causing minimal damage to patrol car. Deer ran off.

Assist Other Agency, 10:34 a.m., SE Laurel Avenue, Mill City. Assisted DHS. Incident was already investigated by a deputy previously.

Suicidal Subject, 12:42 p.m., S McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Married couple not getting along very well and having verbal arguments.

Accident, 1:38 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies assisted OSP with a crash.

Event Detail, 1:51 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy gave career presentation to senior class.

Welfare Check, 2:36 p.m., Myers Place, Scio. Welfare check on children at a residence at the request of school staff.

Suspicious Circumstances, 3:30 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies conducted extra patrol around bridges and the park.

Trespass, 6:22 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Male sleeping on porch of church given a courtesy ride.

Civil Dispute, 11:30 p.m., Eighth Street, Lyons. Deputy responded regarding a verbal argument between adult roommates. Suspect roommate left when the caller called LCSO and had not returned. Nothing criminal reported.

Welfare Check, 11:14 a.m., SE Laurel Avenue, Mill City. Welfare check of elderly female.

Extra Patrol, 11:33 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Santiam Jr./Sr. High during lunch.

Extra Patrol, 12:16 p.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Centennial Elementary.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:43 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputies check on a truck and trailer advised of illegal parking earlier in the day. The vehicle had left the area.

Threats, 3:47 p.m., SE Ivy Street, Mill City. Deputy investigated dispute of juvenile boyfriend. Juveniles warned for littering.

Traffic Stop, 4:51 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to signal turn.

Jan. 11

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:03 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Snow as soon as MP 1.

Extra Patrol, 7:46 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Stayton. Male warned of potential criminal trespassing from county park.

Forest Timber Patrol, 9:19 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Checked on the gravel pits at 2 and 2.5 mile marks; no one was shooting. Heavy snow above mile mark 3. Only a few vehicles in passing headed to the snow.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 10:53 a.m., Huntley Road, Stayton. Male, 42, of Stayton was arrested for theft 1 and unauthorized use of vehicle.

Forest Timber Patrol, 12:29 p.m., Thomas Creek Drive, Scio. Lots of logging traffic coming off the mountain. No unauthorized vehicles. Nothing suspicious to report.

Suspicious Vehicle, 1:24 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Unoccupied, suspicious vehicle.

Welfare Check, 2:46 p.m., S McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Welfare check of elderly female.

Disturbance, 2:54 p.m., SW Linn Place, Mill City. Deputy responded to a verbal disturbance between a father and daughter. No crimes reported.

Person Assist, 4:39 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputy helped get a vehicle unstuck from the snow.

Traffic Hazard, 6:33 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/Fishermans Road, Lyons. Deputy responded to a traffic hazard that was cleared off the road prior to his arrival.

Suspicious Circumstances, 10:58 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies investigated armed disturbance report and found there were no signs of such.

Jan. 12

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:52 a.m., Highway 226, Lyons. Deputy checked on the status of a vehicle on the side of the road. Driver needed no assistance.

Forest Timber Patrol, 8:19 a.m., Monument Peak and Xmas Tree roads, Gates. Patrol of BLM land.

Extra Patrol, 10:09 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Local schools.

Forest Timber Patrol, 10:15 a.m., Monument Peak and Xmas Tree roads, Gates. Deputy hiked into a few dispersed camping areas blocked by recently downed trees. Deputy did not locate any campers.

Domestic Disturbance, 12:04 p.m., SW Linn Place, Mill City. Deputies responded to juvenile issue. Help locate possible services for family.

Welfare Check, 12:11 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. All was well.

Domestic Disturbance, 1:03 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to disturbance/custody issue. No evidence of crimes.

Traffic Stop, 1;08 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Welfare Check, 4:21 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputy checked on female who was with her mother and needed no assistance.

Warrant, 8:44 p.m., Kingwood Avenue/Dogwood Road, Mill City. Female, 28, of Mill City was cited in lieu of custody for an outstanding warrant.

Extra Patrol, 9:06 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. Nothing suspicious.

Extra Patrol, 9:34 p.m., E Gates Bridge, Gates. Nothing suspicious.

Suspicious Person, 11 p.m., S First Avenue/SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputies contacted male who had been sitting on a bench for several hours. Deputies offered assistance but he declined. Non-criminal.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:55 p.m., Monument Peak and Gates School roads, Gates. Male, 27, of Salem was arrested on two outstanding warrants and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Jan. 13

Motorist Assist, 12:23 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Brock Drive, Scio. Male, 27, thought it would be a good idea to drive in the ice and got stuck. He mustered up the courage to leave before LE arrived.

Welfare Check, 8:37 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Stayton. Deputies checked on welfare of individual. Individual was not at location.

Animal Complaint, 1:52 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Deputies respond to call of the possibility of horse with no shelter. No evidence of that was located.

Assist Other Agency, 2:55 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Deputy assisted Stayton Police with welfare check.

Assist Other Agency, 2:59 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop/Sledge Drive, Scio. Deputies located downed power line and requested appropriate resources.

Motorist Assist, 3:39 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy checked on disabled vehicles.

Person Assist, 4:20 p.m., W Main Street, Lyons. Deputy assisted in transporting a member of the public.

Assist Other Agency, 4:27 p.m., S Ruby Loop, Scio. Deputy assisted Scio Fire on a medical call.

Domestic Disturbance, 5:57 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to a verbal dispute. Parties separated.

Assist Other Agency, 7:25 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies assisted fire department on a medical call.

Criminal Mischief, 7:50 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Stayton. Caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly in the ice. Vehicle left area prior to deputy’s arrival.

Traffic Stop, 9:27 p.m., N First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 9:41 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for lighting violation.

Bike Traffic, 12:44 a.m., Highway 22/NE Alder Street, Mill City. Rider warned for lighting violation.

Hit and Run, 12:54 a.m., Kingwood Avenue/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Deputies found a stop sign and guard rail that had been struck by a vehicle. Ongoing investigation.

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:14 a.m., Monument Peak Road, Gates.

Traffic Hazard, 8:36 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Tree blocking highway near Echo Hill. Deputies were able to clear both lanes.

Welfare Check, 9:03 a.m., Linnwood Drive, Gates. Deputies conducted welfare check and located downed powerline.

Person Assist, 12:43 p.m., Brock Drive, Scio. Deputies assisted in locating resources to remove downed tree.

Suspicious Person, 3:57 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Larwood Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to runaway juvenile. Juvenile was later found and taken home by neighbor.

Missing Persons, 6 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Caller reported a missing female. Female had been contacted by another agency and was doing well.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:33 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Two juveniles reported a vehicle was acting strange. Deputies escorted juveniles home and searched the area for the vehicle. Unable to locate.

Jan. 15

Domestic Disturbance, 11:24 a.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. Caller reported significant other taking all electronic devices. No crimes occurred.

Extra Patrol, 11:48 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Animal Complaint, 12:50 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio.

Traffic Stop, 1:22 p.m., S First Avenue/SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Driver warned for improper display.

Traffic Stop, 1:48 p.m., Kingwood and SW 11th avenues, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation and failure to carry proof of insurance.

Animal Complaint, 2:23 p.m., Kingston-Jordan Road, Stayton. Dog at large in neighbor’s goat pen. One dog was shot and injured. Deputies transported dog to nearest animal hospital. Dog owner cited for dog at large.

Domestic Disturbance, 5:17 p.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. Verbal argument. No crimes reported.

Suspicious Circumstances, 6:10 p.m., Mad Creek Road, Gates. Deputy spoke to caller about concerns for male parked in driveway looking for his dog.

Found Dog, 6:27 p.m., E Gates Bridge, Gates. Deputy spoke to caller who advised she was able to locate owner of the dog.

Person Assist, 6:32 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies stopped to help vehicle get out of driveway.

Trespass, 6:58 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputy spoke to caller about concerns of male they let on their property. They no longer wanted the male on the property.

Traffic Complaint, 7:34 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Caller reported ATV riding on public roads. Deputy responded and was unable to locate rider.
