Feb. 25

911 Hang-up, 3 a.m., SW Beech Street, Scio. Deputies responded. No answer on call-back and no response at residence.

Suspicious Person, 3:22 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies contacted person that was out collecting cans.

Criminal Mischief, 7:37 a.m., Rock Creek Road/Pebble Drive, Gates. Unreported stolen truck hit a power pole. Vehicle owner arrived and took possession of vehicle. Ongoing investigation.

Warrant, 8:21 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Male, 62, of Gates was cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

Traffic Stop, 9:59 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Shots Heard, 10:58 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputies checked on a report of possible unsafe and/or illegal target shooting on BLM land. Nothing about the target shooting was illegal.

Abandoned Vehicle, 11:46 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Car left on side of road. Note on car stated it ran out of gas. Deputy located owner who was already on his way back with a gas can.

Traffic Complaint, 12:06 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Traffic complaint regarding speeding vehicle.

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:11 p.m., Highway 226/Jordan Road, Scio. Deputy left citation with a vehicle for illegal parking due to it being parked right in front of a clearly marked no parking sign and was left unattended with no one located in the surrounding area.

Warrant, 3:54 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Male, 28, of Bend issued a citation in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

Traffic Stop, 4:44 p.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Third Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Warrant, 4:57 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. No public narrative.

Trespass, 5:37 p.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. Deputy located RV trespassing on private property. Told to move along.

Feb. 26

Traffic Hazard, 9:04 a.m., Crabtree Drive/Gilkey Road, Scio. Deputy was unable to locate vehicle in question.

Trespass, 11:39 a.m., Tuckwila Street, Lyons. Deputy trespassed multiple individuals from a residential house.

Traffic Stop, 12:08 p.m., N Main Street/NW Second Avenue, Scio. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Traffic Hazard, 3:46 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Montgomery Drive, Scio. Hazard removed prior to deputy’s arrival.

Traffic Stop, 8:16 p.m., SW 11th Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for making an unsignaled turn.

Traffic Stop, 8:45 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd./NW Second Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for operating without privileges.

Motorist Assist, 9:03 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies stopped to check on a broken down vehicle. No help needed.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:15 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies stopped to check on semi-truck and trailer parked in the weigh station for a long period of time. Nobody was with the vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 9:26 p.m., SW Fifth Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for failure to register vehicle.

Extra Patrol, 10:30 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Welfare Check, 10:47 p.m., Greenway Drive, Gates. Female’s phone was broken but doing well.

Traffic Stop, 10:49 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for improper display.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:07 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Individuals educated on county park hours.

Park Patrol, 11:21 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. No suspicious vehicles or people seen in county park after dark.

Extra Patrol, 2:39 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Suspicious Vehicle, 2:48 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy checked unoccupied vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 3:04 a.m., NE Fourth Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 5:21 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Driver warned for failure to register vehicle.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:22 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Male reported friend missing. He returned home shortly after.

Civil Dispute, 9:21 a.m., S McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Caller had questions regarding a no-contact order.

Dog Complaint, 12:14 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputy attempted contact regarding dog complaint.

Welfare Check, 1:14 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy checked on welfare of children. No concern detected.

Dog Complaint, 2:25 p.m., Birch Street, Lyons. Dog owner cited for dog at large.

Trespass, 2:52 p.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. Vehicle was no longer there.

Dog Bite, 5:54 p.m., SW Second Avenue, Scio. Dog owner issued a quarantine order after dog bite occurred.

Dog Complaint, 7:23 p.m., Robinson Drive/Goar Road, Scio. Caller reported hitting a dog with car and was able to contact the dog owner prior to needing deputy help.

Traffic Stop, 10:03 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver cited for operating without driving privileges.

Suspicious Person, 10:06 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Male, 44, of Stayton was arrested and lodged in jail on two Marion County warrants, one Lebanon Municipal Court warrant and one Linn County Justice Court warrant.

Extra Patrol, 11:37 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Feb. 28

Suspicious Person, 2:23 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Deputy contacted female walking beside road. She advised she had attempted to contact a friend but was now out walking.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:25 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Male, 24, of Stayton was cited in lieu of custody for a Marion County warrant for failure to appear for harassment.

Forest Timber Patrol, 9:33 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio.

Accident, 10:42 a.m., Cole School Road/Cole View Drive, Scio. Vehicle slid into ditch. Non-injury.

Traffic Stop, 12:08 p.m., Highway 226/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Warned for moving and equipment violations.

Traffic Stop, 12:32 p.m., Main and 13th streets, Lyons. Driver warned for not placing temp tag in visible manner.

Event Detail, 1:12 p.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Four deputies assisted Santiam Jr./Sr. High with a lockdown drill.

Warrant, 1:54 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Male, 23, of Mill City turned himself in on two outstanding warrants and was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Extra Patrol, 1:55 p.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. Abandoned property.

Civil Dispute, 2:18 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Civil dispute over travel trailer.

Juvenile Complaint, 2:40 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Deputy spoke to two kids at the elementary school about the consequences of stealing.

Suspicious Circumstances, 3:58 p.m., SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Caller reported a strange male approached his son asking if he would like a ride home.

Suspicious Vehicle, 4:46 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Vehicle is on private property and property manager was advised of private property tow rules.

Warrant, 5:22 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 26, of Aumsville was arrested on an outstanding warrant and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Runaway, 6:51 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Juvenile returned home prior to deputies’ arrival. 

Feb. 29

Extra Patrol, 12:42 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Extra patrols around businesses, parks, schools.

Noise Disturbance, 9:18 a.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to check on a single report of a loud explosion from unknown location or source. The source was not identified and everything in the area appeared OK.

Dog Complaint, 9:26 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Discussed violations of city code committed by both parties. Parties agreed to reach a civil compromisee.

Extra Patrol, 10:06 a.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Nothing suspicious observed.

Rescue, 10:14 a.m., Highway 22, Idanha. Deputies responded to report of vehicle going off NF 2212 road and down an embankment. Driver called 911 and reported he was dangerously close to sliding off cliff. Deputies responded along with the Lyons Fire Dept., Linn County Search and Rescue and Santiam Towing and Recovery. Operator and vehicle safely returned to road with no injuries, only minor damage to vehicle.

Suspicious Circumstances, 11 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Person sleeping in car. No medical or other assistance needed.

Theft, 11:27 a.m., NW Ninth Avenue, Mill City. Caller reported fraudulent charges.

Traffic Stop, 11:43 a.m., Richardson Gap Road/Montgomery Drive, Scio. Driver cited for 81 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:53 p.m., Trask Road, Lyons. All clear on the open side. All gates locked.

Assist Other Agency, 5:21 p.m., Rainbow Drive, Scio. Male, 35, was arrested for a parole violation warrant and two counts of violation of a no contact order. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Traffic Hazard, 8:28 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Subject riding horses into town at night.

Extra Patrol, 10:03 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Starting to snow some. Nothing suspicious.

DUII, 10:40 p.m., Cedar and Third streets, Lyons. Deputies attempted to locate driver who was unable to maintain lanes. Located vehicle but were unable to locate anyone that admitted to being the driver.

March 1

Park Patrol, 12:46 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. No suspicious activity.

Civil Dispute, 8:32 a.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Deputy contacted individual who had concerns regarding a civil dispute between family members. Non-criminal.

Trespass, 10:19 a.m., Dogwood Street, Lyons. Male trespassing on county property.

Assist Other Agency, 11 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Assisted OSP with motor vehicle crash.

Possible DUI, 2:41 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies attempted to locate a possible DUI driver.

Extra Patrol, 3:39 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio.

Extra Patrol, 8:50 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Traffic Stop, 11:20 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Warned for failure to renew registration.

Trespass, 12:05 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Report of suspicious vehicle in driveway. Deputies were unable to locate.

Patrol Patrol, 12:40 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. No suspicious people or vehicles in a county park after dark.

Traffic Stop, 1:30 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for operating without privileges.

Criminal Mischief, 1:33 a.m., Lulay Road, Scio. Weyerhaeuser lock broken by apparent trespassers.

Traffic Stop, 2:19 a.m., S First Avenue/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation, driving uninsured and failure to register vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 2:48 a.m., Highway 226/Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Extra Patrol, 4:07 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies checked high school.

Animal Complaint, 4:32 p.m., Robinson Drive, Scio. Sheep on railroad tracks. Sheep were contained.

Traffic Hazard, 4:47 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Report of a van in the road. Van was moved to the side of the road by the owner who was fixing it.

Traffic Stop, 9:01 p.m., SW Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended.
