May 6

Burglary, 7:07 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Approx. $4,500 worth of property stolen from business. 

Child Abuse Report, 1:44 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies investigate a sex abuse allegation.

Traffic Hazard, 3:54 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Large tree fell, knocking down power lines and poles.

Accident, 11:57 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Single-vehicle, non-injury crash. No property damage.

May 7

Child Abuse Report, 1:44 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies investigated a sex abuse allegation. Ongoing investigation.

Dog Complaint, 1:41 p.m., Shelburn Drive, Scio. Deputies transported stray dog to Animal Control.

Fraud, 2:22 p.m., Rainbow Drive, Scio. Unknown number called claiming to be an investigator and advising there was a warrant out for her arrest in Marion County for not showing up to grand jury. This is a scam. Resident did not fall for it.

Traffic Stop, 3:12 p.m., Third and Fir streets, Lyons. Driver was cited for failure to renew vehicle registration.

Missing Persons, 3:45 p.m., Fir Street, Lyons. Disabled man, 69, left house on foot at approximately 5 a.m. Deputies unable to locate. Information sent to other agencies.

911 Hangup, 7:19 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputies spoke with juvenile about misuse of 911.

May 8

Burglary, 11:36 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Caller reported a home was burglarized.

Marine Incident, 11:56 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Debris and boat floating down river.

Accident, 12:01 p.m., SW Kingwood and SW High avenues, Mill City. Non-injury vehicle crash occurred between a Sheriff’s Office patrol car and a citizen’s vehicle. Oregon State Police investigated the crash.

Narcotics Offense, 6:11 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Female, 39, of Lebanon, was cited for a warrant.

Accident, 6:38 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Single-vehicle, injury accident.

Traffic Stop, 7:27 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended and no insurance.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:32 p.m., SE Sixth Avenue, Mill City. Deputy contacted male and female at park after hours. 

Traffic Stop, 11:18 p.m., Fifth and Elm streets, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 11:20 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 11:54 p.m., Highway 226, Lyons. Driver cited for failing to use ignition interlock device.

May 9

Accident, 12:44 a.m., Echo Hill Road/Highway 226, Scio. Car into ditch. Non-injury.

Suspicious Person, 10 a.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputy talked with occupant of suspicious vehicle and asked them to move along.

Burglary, 1:25 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Deputy investigated a trespass and was in a short pursuit before terminating for safety.

Warrant, 6:33 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 51, of Lebanon, cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

Warrant, 7:19 p.m., N First Avenue, Mill City. Male, 53, of Gates,  cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

May 10

Trespass, 8:41 a.m., Locust Street, Lyons. Deputy checked area for reported trespassers who left before deputies arrived.

Fraud, 11:07 a.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Deputy took report of fraud over the sell of a fridge on Marketplace.

Littering Violation, 11:34 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputies found a garbage pile on Upper Neal Creek Road. Ongoing investigation.

Missing Person, 12:15 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. 19-year-old male reported missing by a family member. Male was last seen at Shari’s in Salem.

Suspicious Person, 2:44 p.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Male, 39, of Lyons, was cited in lieu of custody for failure to register as a sex offender.

Suspicious Person, 7:27 p.m., 13th Street, Lyons. People attempting to camp at county park that does not allow camping. They were informed and asked to leave.

Disturbance, 9:31 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to a report of a fight at Kimmel Park. Area was checked and nobody was found. No other caller’s or any possible victim information.

May 11

Counter Traffic, 10 a.m., SW First Avenue, Mill City. Victim of crime came to LCSO with additional evidence. Evidence was taken and added to the case.

Traffic Stop, 1:34 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to renew registration.

Traffic Stop, 1:45 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for failure to register vehicle.

Found Dog, 2:52 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Deputy returned wandering dog to its house.

Motorist Assist, 3:42 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy helped push disabled vehicle off the road.

Burglary, 5:11 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio.

Theft, 7:15 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to report that a customer did not pay for services rendered. Ongoing investigation.

OD Ingestion Poisoning, 8:41 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputies respond to overdose. Female was taken to hospital by family.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:38 p.m., Sandner Drive, Scio. Deputy contacted several vehicles parked in the middle of the road to see Northern Lights. Deputies asked them to pull all the way off the road.

May 12

Burglary, 11:50 a.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Ongoing investigation.

Assist Other Agency, 3:09 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Assisted medics for two suffering from heat exhaustion.

Suspicious Vehicle, 5:16 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Caller reported a vehicle possibly matching the description of a recently eluding vehicle. There was no reason to believe the vehicle was involved in any crimes.
